VOLGA RELIEF SOCIETY RECORDS

We purchased this information from Samuel Sinner who obtained it for us from the Nebraska Historical Society (Collection 4879AM, Box 3 Folder 4). This particular list is of those persons in Morgentau who received aid. The exact date is unknown, but obviously is in the early 1920's. Each received flour, groats, sugar, cocoa, milk and lard. "Souls" refers to the number in each family.

From an article in Die Welt Post on 25 May 1922 - a list of those Villages in the Seelman Governmental District that received financial aide through the Volga Relief Society lists Morgentau as having received $170.
